For One Day Only… (Ashley & Derek)

One day, Ashley decided that she would venture into the much-hyped about world of online dating…but…for that one day only. On that day, the stars aligned and she matched up with a gentleman named Derek. Although Derek didn’t know it at the time, earlier in her life, Ashley had curated a list for herself, of all of the qualities that she wanted in her perfect husband. She was hoping to find someone who could meet a majority of the expectations on her list. Derek met them all.

Throughout their courtship, they learned more about their similarities and mutual likes, and dislikes. With this process also came numerous degrees, graduations, and certifications. You could say that their relationship blossomed at some of the most demanding points in their lives. This only made their bond, and them, stronger. The challenges solidified their support for, and faith in, one another. Throughout my preparation process with them for their big day, I could sense a calm approach to their wedding, as well as their lives (perhaps this is due to their trust in their event partners, and those in their lives that helped shape their solutions-oriented approach to life).

Fast forward (through the dating, proposal, and engagement) to their big day! Finally, they were able to showcase their love, and teammate-like approach to their life together, to their closest friends and families. Every detail was accounted for, a wardrobe change was successfully completed, and personalized elements were incorporated to make sure that everyone felt involved, as well as tended to, throughout the celebration! There was an animated light monogram, a groom’s cake to commemorate Derek’s favorite baseball team, and a personalized First Dance introduction. Ashley shared dances with her dad, and step-dad, Derek danced with Mom, and I would like to once again mention the wardrobe change! It was at this wedding that I had learned that there is a “celebration dress”, and a “it’s time to party dress”!
